Synopsis of Scenes
Act I
- Scene I Outside the temple of Jerusalem. Jesus has just cast out the moneychangers in the temple. Caiaphas, Lucius and Antipas are angrily discussing His actions. And they begin a plan to rid themselves of this upstart
- II Meeting room in Caiaphas’ house. Jesus is the topic of discussion. Caiaphas convinces the Sanhedrin to try to locate Jesus and work toward capturing him. Deborah, Caiaphas’ wife has doubts about
- III A Jerusalem street. Judas meets two of the Sanhedrin and they plan on how to capture Jesus.
- IV Bethany home of Mary and Martha. Deborah comes to their house and talks to them about Jesus. She agrees to meet Jesus.
- V Meeting room in Caiaphas’ house. The Sanhedrin complete their plotting with Judas receiving his payment.
- VI Courtyard outside of soldier’s Quarters. Caiaphas meets with the guards and fills them in on the plan.
Act II
- Scene I Meeting room in Caiaphas’ house. Two servants report back to Deborah and announce Jesus’ capture. Jesus is brought before the Council and they start the trial process.
- II Inside a synagogue in Jerusalem. Antipas is regretting his involvement and is ridiculed.
- III Pilate’s Judgment Hall and court. Pilate meets Jesus and the Jews call for Jesus’ crucifixion
- IV Near Pilate’s court. The Crucifixion. Jesus is crucified.
