Director's notes:
A bed is needed for Joseph. It is best if it has a headboard of some kind so that he can sit upright. This will help the audience see him better. A stool for Jesus to sit on. A small table for a water jug and cup.
Some sort of neutral background would be nice. I suggest putting two flats together with hinges. This will form an ‘L’ shape that the bed nestles into as in a corner of the room. See diagram below:
